How does Carbon Laser Facial or Carbon Laser Peel Calgary work?

A layer of carbon laser gel is applied to the skin, it quickly dries and penetrates deep into the pores. Laser light is highly attracted to carbon particles. The reaction causes a mini-explosion. In the form of heat, the explosion pushes the energy deep into the layers of the skin, where elastin and collagen are activated, and cells begin producing anew. Meanwhile, the carbon is vaporized along with any dirt, oil, or dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. It sounds kind of scary, but don’t worry, there’s very little discomfort or pain. This laser can safely treat all skin tones from light to dark. Also, those who have received Accutane or oral Vitamin A acne therapy cannot be treated for six months after their last dose.

The number of sessions needed is dependent on the size of the treatment area and the desired effect. Usually, we recommend a course of 2-6 treatments to take place every 2-3 weeks for the best in beautiful, long-lasting results.

There is no downtime; you can return to your regular activities directly following your treatment.
 
Though you may experience slight redness, this will clear up within a few hours and can be soothed with aloevera gel. We recommend keeping the skin clean and dry while it’s red, but you can wear makeup once this has cleared up. However, try to avoid oily makeup, as this will clog your pores again. We recommend using SPF 50 sun cream to protect the area for at least one month following treatment, as failure to do so could result in hyperpigmentation.

Depending on your skin condition, skin type, and lifestyle, the result may vary. In most cases, you will see results after one treatment. Ideally, treatments spaced 2-4 weeks apart for long-term results.
